Just something I was thinking about the other day while I was at work. I think I was having some flashbacks of playing Wolfenstein. The original sketch was somewhat different and didn't have the foreground structure on the left or the walkway on top. This image originated from a bunch of sketches I did for last year's 8-bit show in Hollywood at Gallery 1988. I eventually went with a different idea, but I've been wanting to paint one of the sketches that I did while going through the whole process. I was doing a series of sketches based upon some idea I had of a large robot battle. One badass robot would be left standing upon the scrap heap of destroyed robots. I sketched all of the thumbnails in Photoshop, picked the one I liked, then did a color comp. After the comp, I enlarged the sketch and painted directly on top.]]> Mon, 17 Jul 2006 03:26:33 +0000
