I was doing a series of sketches based upon some idea I had of a large robot battle. One badass robot would be left standing upon the scrap heap of destroyed robots. I sketched all of the thumbnails in Photoshop, picked the one I liked, then did a color comp. After the comp, I enlarged the sketch and painted directly on top.
