Just something I was thinking about the other day while I was at work. I think I was having some flashbacks of playing Wolfenstein. The original sketch was somewhat different and didn't have the foreground structure on the left or the walkway on top. So, during the painting process, I decided to add those two details to show more scale, different texture/materials and to add an extra area for snipers, etc....thinking of gameplay I guess.
